Jan Sutch Pickard

Jan is a poet, storyteller and liturgist living on the Isle of Mull, having served for six years on the staff of the Iona Community and then as an Ecumenical Accompanier (peace monitor) in Palestine and Israel. Living in West Bank villages, she learned the daily greeting Salaam – heart-achingly close to the Hebrew Shalom, both words meaning ‘Peace’. As a member of the Iona Community, Jan shares this belief: the gospel commands us to seek peace founded on justice.
