Hukarere Māori Girls College

Hukarere Māori Girls’ College in Hawke’s Bay was founded over a century ago in the Anglican faith in Aotearoa New Zealand. The story of their incredible evacuation without loss of life in the terrible cyclone of February 2023 has been widely told. Erice Fairbrother is Chaplain at the college and has written these reflections with some of the girls: Zsana, Karani, Alizae, Quayeshia and Cherish.
